20 YEARS OF SERVICE VS. ONE SERIOUS BREACH: THE STORY OF AWARD NO. 965

The company provided evidence that the employee attempted to misappropriate funds by submitting inflated commission claims and making fraudulent double claims for petrol expenses. While the claimant argued the dismissal was unjust, the court found his actions constituted a fundamental breach of fiduciary trust. Ultimately, the Chairman ruled that the employer had just cause for the termination based on a balance of probabilities. Consequently, the court dismissed the claimant’s request for reinstatement and back wages.
